QAShear
This Wool Harvesting system focuses on the wool product being harvested and not the action of the harvesting.
All the components of the fleece while on the sheep are defined by their location on the sheep.
The prime outcome is a Quality Assured product to meet the demands of industry who require Quality Assured inputs. All industries demand Quality Assured products and all competitors of wool provide highly specified quality assured products with trace back labels.
The WYT-KIN system delivers the sheep by conveyor and tipper to the wool separation platform. Parts of the fleece are separated into specific receptacles during wool removal, and then released onto the wool conveyor on completion.
The fleece and its parts are then conveyed to the wool room for classing and pressing.
This system can provide a Quality Assured product with productivity gains based on fleeces per man day that exceeds all other known systems.

The WYT-KIN Technologies
Underbelly belt delivery and tipper
-
Provides continuous flow of sheep to each wool harvester.
-
Eliminates catching and dragging.
-
Eliminates injuries caused by catching and dragging.
-
Lower Workers Compensation claims and costs.
Hydraulic Handpiece Drive System :
-
The hydraulic drive sits above a short flexible drive on a trapezium biased arm (i.e. off centre) which swings in an arc and gives lift during operation and results in little or no weight.
-
A foot switch is used for on/off operation.
-
The system has a unique anti lock device which instantaneously stops the system should hard objects be encountered, e.g. wire. The over centre relief valve shuts the system which can be reset by toggling the on/off foot switch.
Wool Separation
Platform
-
Unique in its crafted shape in Fiboplas material, a high impact resistant flexible, light, noise deadening material that can be cleaned and washed easily.
-
Only one leg hook is used for restraint.
-
Sheep rest relaxed whilst being shorn due to 15 degree recline with twist along body length.
-
No struggling with sheep manipulation and positioning.

The Wool Conveyor
-
The separated parts of the fleece are held in receptacles until completion of wool removal and release of the sheep.
-
The fleece and the separated components are then released onto the wool conveyor.
-
Identification of the fleece and component parts are maintained on the conveyor to the wool room for classing and grading into bins or press providing a Quality Assured Product.
It is proposed that QAShearer trained wool harvesters will become registered with a QAShear licensed organization.
The wool classer will be responsible for determining overall wool preparation standards are maintained to ensure Quality Assurance Standards and be trained and registered to administer the QAShear Quality Assurance system of Wool harvesting.
The QAShearers and Wool classers will not be limited to using any particular equipment, the Wyt-Kin Wool harvesting is just one option.
The likes of Elders, Landmark and 15 Trade wool buyers have already signed their support the QAShear concept .
WYT-KIN Wool Harvesting system is one system
that can demonstrate and introduce
the QAShear Quality Assurance method of wool harvesting . Any system can utilize QAShear, contact us for information about integrating QAShear into your system or equipment.
