Tools For Your Trade - Withdrawal of eligibility for agriculture and horticulture trades
By  TFYT - Monday, March 03 2008 Comment(s): 1  |  Overall Rating:

The Australian Government has announced that eligibility for commencements in agriculture and horticulture trade qualifications under the Tools For Your Trade initiative will cease, effective from 1 February 2008.

The 1 February 2008 effect date means that the employer of an eligible Australian Apprentice will continued to be issued a Tools For Your Trade voucher card if their Australian Apprentice commenced their training between 1 July 2007 and 31 January 2008.

What this means for tool suppliers
Voucher cards already issued to agriculture and horticulture apprentices/employers can continue to be used for tool kit transactions.

As there is a 12-month claim period in which to claim/redeem a voucher card, you will still be able to provide tools and equipment to these trades under the Initiative for some time.

Great ... nothing like a change of Government!
